Vitruvian’s Trainer+ Is the Next-Generation Home Gym

March 3, 2022 by

Thousands experienced the newest technological advance in fitness, the Vitruvian Trainer+, which debuted at CES 2022 last week. Recently featured on FORBES.COM and named one of the best fitness workout equipment for your compact, space-saving home gym, The Trainer+ is the most powerful adaptive fitness device coming to the market, with cutting-edge algorithmic technology for the most intelligent workout.

The Trainer+ is a highly portable, luxurious, and sleek carbon fiber platform that employs algorithms, a dynamic tension system, and has the power to release up to a whopping 440lb, smashing its competition in weight training capabilities. Featuring intelligent software that motivates, responds, and adapts to you, you have a whole gym at your fingertips. When paired with the Vitruvian App, the compact Trainer+ knows how much weight you can safely and effectively move at any given time. The app offers coached sessions with leading trainers, customizable workout plans, performance data insights, over 200+ exercises available, technique tutorials, and the ability to compete with friends.

The innovative platform was developed more than a decade ago by Jon Gregory, a former high-frequency trader with a degree in applied physics after he began looking for an alternative to pumping metal weights in between trades at his desk. He decided to combine his two passions and create algorithms that revolutionize how we work out.  How does the Trainer+ work? Essentially, the adaptive weight acts as a spotter, learning the user’s ability to lift, adjusting to their strengths and weaknesses over 50 times per second.

Once the Trainer+ builds a data-driven picture of your training level, it can modify the workouts accordingly to extract the best out of your efforts and increase your strength rather than maintain it. What sets the Trainer+ apart is its ability to simultaneously offer concentric and eccentric resistance workouts.

The SHIFT device by FluxWear.

SHIFT delivers a unique magnetic stimulation profile resulting in rapid functional connectivity improvements within targeted brain networks that quickly place the user in a relaxed meditative state – all in a discrete, comfortable cadet-style cap. Once in this state, the user can attain the health benefits of meditation including reduced pain, decreased stress, deeper sleep, and improved focus.

“We are thrilled to be taking our product to CES to show the world what this technology is truly capable of,” says Kamran Ansari, co-founder of FluxWear and inventor of SHIFT. “We sincerely believe that this device will make the benefits of meditation accessible to all and change the lives of millions who suffer from chronic pain and anxiety.”

In 2017, Kamran’s sister and co-founder, Nadia Ansari, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which caused her severe chronic pain. Determined to help his sister, Kamran began a journey to develop a product that would help Nadia achieve a meditative state to better manage her pain. After creating the initial prototype in 2020, Kamran and Nadia experimented and eventually developed a stimulation profile that, within minutes, enabled Nadia to enter into a deep meditative state and reduce her pain as a result.

FluxWear will be demonstrating SHIFT in the Westgate Hotel and will be scheduling exclusive, one-on-one SHIFT mediation sessions for media.

For media inquiries about SHIFT or reserving a demonstration at CES, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]. For more information on FluxWear, visit their website.

QuietOn Showcases QuietOn 3, the World’s Smallest Active Noise Cancelling EarbudsThatRedefine Sleep Technology

January 8, 2022 by

Finnish tech innovator QuietOn™ today announced it will be showcasing QuietOn 3, the company’s latest breakthrough technology to optimize sleep, at CES 2022. QuietOn 3 is the world’s smallest active noise canceling earbud that significantly reduces low-frequency noise to deliver quietude regardless of one’s sleeping environment.

Small enough to fit entirely inside the ear, QuietOn 3 is the only active noise-canceling sleep solution that is comfortable enough for everyone, including side sleepers. The superior comfort and quietude let users enjoy a good night’s sleep for better overall health, wellness, and a readiness to tackle each day with a clear, rested mind.

“We’re thrilled to connect with attendees from around the world at this year’s CES to further share the importance of a restful night and how consumers can improve their own sleep quality,” said QuietOn CEO Jussi Lemiläinen. “Health and sleep technology are going mainstream, and it’s exciting to help users be the best versions of themselves throughout the day after a good night’s sleep.”

QuietOn 3 is the only product on the market that boasts a breakthrough combination of industry-leading ANC technology and a form-factor so small that it fits entirely within one’s ears – leading to better sleep quality and waking performance.

“Traveling for events like CES can be tiring, meaning it’s of utmost importance to have a restful sleep when the excitement dies down at night. However, many attendees cannot rely on hotels for quietude due to thin walls, rowdy neighbors, and city noise,” explained Lemiläinen. “QuietOn 3’s ANC technology is specifically designed to nullify these noises, resulting in a much quieter and more peaceful environment for sleep. And a good night’s sleep is the key to success for a productive day on the trade show floor.”

While white noise machines and other noise-masking devices help with lulling one to sleep and are common in dorm rooms or apartments, the addition of a new noise to overpower background noises can actually prevent or disrupt deep sleep. By automatically generating opposite waveforms to nullify low frequencies, QuietOn 3 eliminates ambient sounds that would otherwise disturb restful sleep.

Additionally, QuietOn 3 does not use transmitters, receivers, and other components typically found in music earbuds, presenting a healthier option for sleep. On the other hand, Bluetooth headphones emit electromagnetic fields (EMF), a health concern identified by the United Nations and World Health Organization.

To ensure maximum comfort, each pair of QuietOn 3 comes in four sizes of ear tips. With no wireless setup or connectivity required and automatic charging in the included case, QuietOn 3 earbuds are always ready to pop in and provide more restful sleep.

The QuietOn 3 earbuds charge in the included carrying case, which contains its own battery to guarantee a full charge at all times. A single charge provides 28 hours of use, so the earbuds have the power to last all day, or for several nights.

“As sleep quality increasingly becomes a priority in the health and wellness space, our mission to provide easy-to-use solutions that assist in delivering quality sleep to all users will continue,” concluded Lemiläinen. “With QuietOn 3, we look forward to showcasing at CES 2022 the critical importance of quietude to sleep quality and overall wellbeing and human performance.”

CIRCULAR UNVEILS ITS SMART RING DESIGNED TO IMPROVE USERS’ HEALTH AND WELLNESS

January 4, 2022 by

A smart ring for better health and wellness. CES Unveiled event series brings together key players in the technology industry, including innovative technology companies of all sizes, influential media, senior-level executives, and prominent tech industry influencers.

THE ONLY FRENCH START-UP IN THE SECTOR OF HEALTH SMART RING Circular team came up with the idea of a health smart ring in 2016. Thanks to the expertise of the team gathering hardware and industrialization experts, algorithmic engineers, and experienced data scientists, the initial concept evolved into an easy-to-use and efficient

solution.

“A lot of wearables are not suitable to users’ real needs, not to mention the lack of

personalization. Also, the users are provided with raw data without knowing how to use it.

As users ourselves, we aimed to design a personal and easy-to-use product capable of

making smart recommendations for a healthier daily life“, said Amaury Kosman, CEO of

Circular.

Very few innovative companies are positioned in the smart health ring market, mainly for technical and production complexity reasons.

HOW DOES IT WORKS?

Circular’s Smart Ring is a wellness wearable that tracks many of your vital metrics, day and

night. The ring focuses on how the user responds to their activities, daily choices, and

rhythms and provides personalized recommendations based on the data it gathers rather

than just providing metrics and raw data graphs.

Weighing just 4 grams, the ring sits on your finger, with a form factor that makes it look

more like a fashionable ring rather than a clunky wearable. lt is comfortable and fashionable

enough for 24/7.

nowatch-is-launching-at-wearable-at-ces-2022

NOWATCH is launching at wearable at CES 2022

January 4, 2022 by

The world’s first ‘Awareable’, NOWATCH is designed as a screenless wearable for the wrist and helps predict stress by following cortisol levels and in so doing can predict a user’s cognitive zone one hour in advance. In addition, it helps you to improve sleep, and restore balance. The prediction gives the user time

to change their behavior and reduce stress.

NOWATCH senses stress levels in real time using EDA also known as skin conductance, with algorithms developed by Philips, which is superior to the heart rate measures used by other well-known wearables. The NOWATCH connects with an intuitive app developed by the company and is available for iOS and Android.

NOWATCH will attend CES January 5-8th as one of 70 companies chosen in an initiative by the Dutch government to support innovation of startups and scale-ups. At CES, they are located in the Netherlands Tech Square (61928 Sands Eureka Park) and are part of the Netherlands’ exhibit of “Tech Solutions for a Responsible Future.”

“Because of the COVID surge we have been concerned about going to a large convention like CES, but now, more than ever, is the time to introduce our product to the world. Our goal is simple: to give people the time to act before stress becomes too crippling to handle, especially in this time of heightened anxiety,” said CEO Hylke Muntinga.

NOWATCH resets your relationship with technology so that it works for you subtly, securely and with complete privacy. The wearable is designed with interchangeable disks (labradorite, amethyst, white agate, lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, malachite and falcon’s eye), which have been ethically sourced in India.

NOWATCH supports its stone crafts team with best practices and optimum working conditions. “In November 2021 we had a successful product EXPO at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA. We are excited about introducing the NOWATCH Living Lab, our research and development program that seeks to understand flow states, focus, awareness and the influence of stress, sleep and balance for elite musicians, athletes and other performers. Researching our new technology and elevating the human experience is central to our mission,” said Tim Manschot, President of NOWATCH.

NOWATCH pre-sales open on the 1st of February starting at $599 or at $299 with a monthly membership.

Shipping starts in the Spring of 2022.

connected-living-announces-partnership-with-temi,-a-companion-device-and-telehealth-delivery-robot

Connected Living Announces Partnership With Temi, A Companion Device And Telehealth Delivery Robot

January 3, 2022 by

Connected Living and Temi announce a global partnership in response to the COVID-19 new world, in which the most at-risk population – our seniors – need enhanced ways to interact with family, community, and medical professionals all from a distance. Connected Living is now the U.S. partner and distributor of Temi powered by Connected Living, an interactive robot that’s been introduced to senior living and healthcare facilities.

The partnership with Temi is the latest addition to Connected Living’s comprehensive COVID-19 emergency toolkit, which enables senior living communities to manage outreach across all of its constituents, including those who work and live inside and outside the property. The suite of technology services geared at creating connected communities for seniors, includes a roster of pre-configured iPads, tablets, Alexa-enabled skills, a unique TV channel with programming designed for seniors, and a unique smartphone app that helps them stay more connected with their families and one another.

“We want to protect and connect our senior population, their caregivers, staff and families. Temi allows us to safely check temperatures at the door, set up family and doctor social or health visits, and interact with unlimited engagement content,” said Sarah Hoit, CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Living, which serves hundreds of senior living communities nationwide. “We need to do everything we can to bring health and wellbeing to our clients and to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in senior communities, while creating significant opportunity for socialization and healthcare visits.”

As the need to connect and protect our seniors is heightened during this COVID-19 global crisis, Temi can be used, in conjunction with Connected Living’s full suite of technology, to schedule both family visits and telehealth calls for anyone in the building and record the temperature of people entering the building or of current residents. This reasonably-priced robot, now being offered by Connected Living as the official U.S. distributor to the senior and healthcare market, can also be used as a “companion device” in the room to connect anytime with family, see interactive videos and content and help senior living community managers with “temperature capture.” Temi can also be used to ask for the foodservice menu or as a communication device to share safe, social distancing activities that might be occurring in the building.

One of the most innovative senior living communities in the country, and client of Connected Living, is Connecticut-based, Maplewood Senior Living, who introduced Temi to the marketplace by purchasing 30 robots for their new high-end Inspīr Modern Living community center in Manhattan, along with one additional Temi for use in all their other properties, allowing for immediate interaction with anyone a resident wants to connect with virtually. Temi has been lifting spirits and connecting residents with family members and doctors. “We are committed to continuously innovating the way we do things, and bringing the best of what the market has to offer to our residents,” says Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh, Chief Experience & Memory Care Officer of Maplewood Senior Living. “While this has always been our commitment, being able to deliver social and emotional visits with family, and/or connect with a doctor in the resident’s room is critical at this time.”

Through vibrant digital screen “faces,” Temi interacts with humans via autonomous navigation, dynamic video, enhanced audio, and advanced artificial intelligence. Within senior living communities, the gender-neutral Temis function as companion devices with virtually endless possibilities for education, healthcare, and entertainment through a proprietary Connected Living Alexa skill.

“The entire concept for Temi came from a visit to my grandmother, when I realized she was struggling to handle her smartphone,” said Yossi Wolf, Temi Co-Founder and Chairman. “Partnering with Connected Living to bring the convenience of personal robots to thousands of other elders is truly the fulfillment of a dream, and knowing that we’re easing the burden on this population is incredibly rewarding. Connected Living is a big part of making this dream come true.”

That comfort level is essential because Temis are playing a vital role in delivering healthcare to seniors on lockdown. The robots have proven useful in connecting residents with family, but also with doctors for remote consultations on non- emergent care.

“Our mission is to do the most work where we can do the most good, so harnessing technology to connect and protect the people we love is our focus.”

Sarah Hoit, CEO & Co-Founder of Connected Living

Connected Living was recently featured in a case study by LeadingAge called, “Improving System-Wide Communication with Connected Living Enterprise Platform During the COVID-19 Crisis.” To request a copy of this case study or if you have a community in need of assistance to learn more about Connected Living and Temi, please email [email protected]

r-pur-fiit,-the-new-fashion-tech-mask-designed-for-perfect-breathability

R-PUR FiiT, the new fashion tech mask designed for perfect breathability

December 6, 2021 by

Mask-wearing is now part of everyday life for people in urban areas. French start-up R-PUR, a specialist in innovative masks integrating a patented Nano Filtration® system, makes its new range of FiiT masks available to preorder for use as part of routine urban activities. Building on more than four years of research and development, FiiT is a highly breathable mask and pleasant to wear over extended periods. Thanks to its high-performance patented filtering system, people in urban areas can now routinely benefit from purified air. What’s more, the free R-PUR app gives users access to real-time air quality data for their local area. FiiT is the connected mask that sets city-dwellers free again!

More than 60,000 people already use this leading-edge technology

In 2017, R-PUR sent shockwaves around the world when it launched the first nano-filtering mask for motorcyclists. Its patented Nano Filtration® technology benefits wearers with filtering quality ten times higher than the FFP3-mask standard. This is one of the world’s first technology to block

nanoparticles up to twenty nanometres – two ten thousandths of a millimetre – in size. Now this unique technology is available to the general public. After equipping more than 60,000 urban users, including motorcyclists, cyclists and joggers, in the future anybody can breathe easy and make the most of their city thanks to this mask for everyday use. A comfortable fashion accessory that offers effective protection against pollution, viruses and much more

Equipped with eight filtering layers, the FiiT mask protects against fine particles, nanoparticles, pollen, bacteria, viruses, gases and even smells. Since FiiT is also the world’s first mask to offer four hundred personalised combinations, wearers don’t need to compromise on style or comfort. They can select the colour of the mask’s components, including the fabric and fasteners, to match their outfit without affecting breathability. Thanks to its quality materials, FiiT is more comfortable than the finest silk mask.

Green, smart and connected

Unlike single-use surgical masks, this new mask is not disposable! Users can simply change the filter every six to twelve weeks depending on use. Connected via a free app available on iOS and Android, it delivers real-time air-quality and exposure data and tells the wearer when to replace their filter.

Flavien Hello CEO R-PUR: “The new FiiT range was developed to protect everyone from airborne risks and to fully serve the needs of people in urban areas, whether they walk, take public transport or use a scooter. We wanted to take the hassle out of wearing a mask, which is why we focused on lightness and user-friendliness.”

Matthieu Lecuyer GM R-PUR: “Who hasn’t tugged off their mask after doing something physical just to catch their breath? FiiT is designed with optimal protection and breathability in mind. We made it attractive and pleasant to wear so it’s easier to use every day and more effective as a result.

Availability

The new FiiT mask range is available to preorder from 21 September 2021 on the R-PUR website. Available in limited quantities, the range will be sold at the exclusive price of €99 instead of €129. Orders will be delivered at the end of November / early December 2021.

 About R-PUR

R-PUR was founded in 2016 by Matthieu Lecuyer and Flavien Hello. The two French co-founders met in Seoul in 2014, where they were both struggling with respiratory problems, which gave them the idea to develop a solution against daily air pollution hazards not just for them, but for all populations concerned around the world. Launched in 2017 and manufactured in France, their first R-PUR Nano mask integrated a unique filtration system that was patented the same year. Since then, the company has been enhancing its technologies and developing a string of innovations in response to a whole variety of urban lifestyles, including new mobility and the constraints of virus-related issues. R-PUR is based at the Station F incubator in Paris.

PKvitality announces the start of its First-In-Human clinical trial for K’Watch Glucose, the world’s first Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) smartwatch

November 30, 2021 by

PKvitality, a French company that specialized in Health and Sport bio-wearables today announced the start of a clinical study to determine the accuracy of the K’Watch Glucose. The trial is conducted with the AMCR Institute Inc, a clinical research center focused on diabetes and obesity with worldwide renowned medical device expertise in the metabolic area. Based on a unique SkinTaste technology, the K’Watch Glucose will be the first wearable smartwatch medical device that measures and displays glucose levels continuously, effortlessly, and painlessly. This major milestone is partly financed thanks to grant and equity investment from the European Commission through the EIC (European Innovation Council) fund.

PKvitality has been chosen by the EIC as one of the top innovative companies to offer a unique solution to a major global issue: today, the diabetes population is estimated to be of 463M people and should rise to 700M by 2045. The K’Watch Glucose project aims to facilitate the lives of millions of diabetes patients by offering a painless and discreet continuous glucose monitor.

This investment also demonstrates the renewed trust from public institutions in PKvitality projects, as already supported by European and French public institutions since their recognitions both in EUROSTARS contest, within Horizon 2020 framework, and in Innov’Up Leader PIA, a joined initiative from Region Ile-de-France and Bpifrance.

Heidi Kakko, member of the EIC Fund Investment Committee, says: “We are glad to announce the EIC Fund contribution to this funding round for PKvitality to catalyze early-stage venture investments in the high-risk areas to make larger impact: a European medical company developing a breakthrough technology that is increasingly important for the long-term monitoring of patients in many pathologies. The EIC Fund’s investment shows the EU strong commitment in supporting European innovation champions to develop the technologies for the greater benefit and focusing on the fields of critical importance with long term development cycles.”

Luc Piérart, CEO of PKvitality, adds: “PKvitality is a unique blend of Consumer Electronic and Medtech expertise, bringing the best of both worlds: appealing product, ease of use at the service of the diabetes patients. Since 2017, we conducted thousands of interviews with patients, thousands of in vitro tests to improve the product accuracy. The excellent results enable us to enter clinical trial, a major step towards product availability. This study will confirm the precision and patient-friendly experience of using K’Watch Glucose.”
